November 2017 Lakeland 2nd Graders visited Mill Creek Elementary and observed what they experienced.
Nature observations written by the second grade students in Carrie Saunders’ classroom at Lakeland Elementary School.
Birds are migrating and bears are hibernating. Leaves are falling off the trees. The squirrels are collecting nuts. Fish are going into their homes.
The leaves are falling from the trees. Nature is all around us. Nature is a forest, a bug, it is all around you.
Nature is like I love you. I have to care for nature. You need to love nature. Care about nature.
When I was playing in my yard I saw some geese. The geese were flying in a V. It is amazing that the geese know how to do that. I found a toad getting ready to hibernate in the leaves. Today I saw a squirrel getting acorns to store for the winter. It needs acorns to survive because food is hard to find in the winter for squirrels and other animals. My cat loves to go outside, but now my cat just goes outside for a couple of minutes.
What I Think is Happening in Nature…Animals are getting ready to hibernate and get food. Birds are migrating to places. Bears are getting ready to hibernate. Fall is almost over. Winter is coming. Hares are getting winter coats. It is getting colder every day. I have a friend and we are nature walkers. You can be a nature walker too!
Butterflies are going to Texas and Mexico to keep warm. The bears are hibernating. The leaves are falling from the trees onto the ground.
Leaves are falling. Winter is close. Animals are eating food for the winter so that they can stay alive. I love nature. I care about nature by picking up garbage. I am a nature walker with my friend. We are not only water walkers, but nature walkers as well. Nature gives us love like my friends.
The leaves are falling off the trees. Birds are flying to warmer places. Some are migrating. Bears are getting food for their cubs. Snow is falling now. The ice will be growing on the water.
When we went to Mill Creek we saw tons of birds, nests and fish. I also saw a tree frog. Birds are migrating. Leaves are falling. More eyes, more nature.
Birds are migrating and the leaves are falling off the trees. It is getting cold. We are getting our jackets out. The snow is falling on the ground. The squirrels are collecting their nuts.
Nature is just beautiful.
The trees are losing their leaves. It's getting colder throughout the month because winter is almost here. The animals are hibernating and finding homes. The animals are looking for food so they won't be hungry.
Nature is life.
Nature is cycles, fall- winter -spring -summer -fall -winter- spring -summer.
My dad was riding in the car and a deer was running. The deer came out of the woods and we hit it. The deer was so heavy we had to get towed. The deer are on the move. Nature makes our world a better place.
The ladybugs are getting ready to get into their winter homes. We brought them inside to take a closer look. We took them back outside. Nature is wonderful.
I am noticing that deer, bear, raccoons, and squirrels are all getting ready for winter. They are eating a lot and building nests.
Nature gives us love. I am a nature walker.
The leaves fall from trees. Chipmunks are getting nuts for winter. The snow will fall.
The birds are flying to warmer places before the winter comes. The butterflies are going to Mexico and in the summer they grow and eat milkweed. The baby caterpillars eat leaves and the squirrels gather acorns so they can have food. I care for nature because the trees give us oxygen. Nature can calm us. Nature makes our world a better place.
The trees are getting bald. Nature is life.
I think that deer are getting ready for winter. Squirrels are running around the grass. Birds are flying around in the trees. The air is breezy. We live in a wonderful world! Nature calms us down.
