Trashformation Creators - Thank You!
In early February Green Elk Rapids invited local students, residents, and organizaions to create a Trashformation Project to raise awareness of recycling and and other environmental issues for Earth Day 2022. Participants were asked to create projects using environmentally friendly, recycled or recyclable materials.Twelve projects were created and displayed at River Street businesses Earth Day weekend April 22-24. Sunrise Academy’s project “Trash to Treasure” was voted the Best Representation of the theme “Invest In Our Planet”, Elk Rapids High School Art and Eco Clubs’ project “Trashter Pieces” was voted Best Enviromental Theme and Art Rapid’s project “Hedda Hopper” was voted Most Creative. Thanks to everyone who created a project and the businesses willing to display them.

Thanks to all of you who who make efforts to care for our environment everyday and especially those who created Trashformations to bring awareness to Earth Day and those that visited downtown Elk Rapids to see all the creative projects!
